Denton Mother Sentenced to Life in Prison for 7-Year-Old Son’s Child Abuse Death

DENTON (WBAP/KLIF News ) – The mother of a 7-year-old Denton boy has been sentenced to life in prison without parole after jurors found her guilty of abusing him to death on Monday.

46-year-old Sabrina Ho was convicted of capital murder and six child abuse charges.

Prosecutors said Pheonix Ho suffered several significant injuries before he died on April 1, 2022.

During questioning, Ho initially gave conflicting stories about her son’s injuries but later admitted she new her boyfriend, Todd Shaw, repeatedly abuse Pheonix.

In a Facebook post on the Denton County District Attorney’s page, witnesses testified Pheonix’ injuries were some of the worst they had witnessed in their careers.

Shaw was sentenced to life in prison last year after pleading guilty to murder.
