JACKSBORO (WBAP/KLIF News ) – Manslaughter charges have been filed in connection with the death of a 17-year-old North Texas girl who was severely burned at a party on December 16.
Jacksboro police said 23-year-old Sebastian Lindsey threw gasoline into the fire that Madison Lewis was standing near.
Lewis’ hair and clothes went up in flames, leaving her with burns over 90 percent of her body.
Investigators said Lewis was initially driven to the Faith Community Hospital in Jacksboro instead of calling 911, because some of the partygoers were worried about the presence of alcohol.
Lewis died at Parkland Hospital in Dallas on Saturday after several surgeries.
Lindsey is being held in the Jack County Jail without bond.
