Starsky & Hutch Actor, David Soul, Dies at 80

(LOS ANGELES) – Television star David Soul has died at the age of 80. Wife Helen Snell announced the death of Soul Thursday in a statement released Friday, saying he passed away after what she called “a valiant battle for life in the loving company of family”.

David Soul is well known for playing Detective Kenneth ‘Hutch’ Hutchinson in the ABC television series Starsky & Hutch from 1975 to 1979. He became a British citizen in 2004. Soul was best known for his role aas Detective Ken “Hutch” Hutchinson on the series. The police drama aired from 1975 thorugh 79 alongside
the character Paul Michael Glaser portraying David Starsky.

He suffered from several health issues over the years, including chronic pulmonary disease and cancer.

Soul did briefly touch into the music business, with recordings titled “Don’t Give Up on Us” and “Silver Lady”, out in 1976 and 77.

Soul grew up in Chicago and Sioux Falls, South Dakoka. He married five times and is currently survived by five sons and a daughter in addition to his wife.
