STILLWATER, Okla. (WBAP/KLIF News ) – Police in Stillwater, Oklahoma are investigating after a dead longhorn was found in front of the FarmHouse Fraternity at Oklahoma State University on Friday.The department said it received a call about the gruesome discovery just before 6:30 a.m.
Someone had reportedly painted profanity on the steer’s carcass.
Investigators are looking into how the animal died, how long it had been in front of the fraternity and where it came from.
The incident happened during OSU’s “Texas Hate Week” and a day before the Oklahoma State football team takes on the Texas Longhorns in the Big 12 Championship game in Arlington.
The FarmHouse Fraternity issued a statement on Facebook that read in part:
“As a chapter founded on principles driven by our agriculture roots, we’re just as sickened and surprised by this incident as our peers on campus,” said the statement. “To our knowledge, no FarmHouse member was involved in this incident and we do not condone cruelty or defacing livestock in any manner.”
