(WBAP/KLIF) — A 13-year old convicted of murdering a Sonic employee learns his fate.
The unidentified Texas teen watched his uncle get into a fight with a sonic employee in May of this year, when he retrieved an AR-style rifle from his uncles truck and shot Matthew Davis several times in the parking lot in Keene.
After being found guilty by a jury, the boy was sentenced by a Judge, Tuesday, to serve a 12-year jail sentence, following days of evidentiary hearings. The boy’s lawyer said social science shows that such prison sentences for juveniles make society more dangerous. the teen had faced up to 40 years in prison for the killing. Authorities have not identified the teen by name.
