AUSTIN (WBAP/KLIF News ) – The Austin Fire Department’s Special Operations crews, Travis County EMS and the Texas Department of Public Safety are investigating a potentially hazardous substance sent to the Texas Attorney General’s Office Thursday morning.
Staffers at the office, located at the William P. Clements Jr. State Building, received an envelope containing a white powdery substance.
The Austin American Statesman reports Texas DPS said the fire department tested the substance, which was negative for anything dangerous.
Three people, who were not displaying any symptoms, were taken to the Dell Seton Medical Center out of an abundance of caution.
It’s unclear with Attorney General Ken Paxton was in the office at the time the envelope was received.
This is a developing story.
