UPDATE 9:18 a.m. : The Dallas Police Department released more details about the four officers who were hit by a pickup truck while on a domestic dispute call.
It happened just around 3:10 Thursday morning along Community Drive near Overland Park.
When officers arrived, they found a man shot in the leg and the suspected gunman was in the house.
Police used an SUV as cover while trying to draw the suspect outside.
That’s when an uninvolved driver hit the squad car with one officer inside, and the patrol vehicle then hit three other officers.
The officers were taken to a local hospital and are expected to recover. The driver stayed at the scene.
In the domestic dispute case, the gunman was arrested and the victim was hospitalized.

DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News ) – Four Dallas police officers were taken to the hospital after a driver plowed into their vehicles while on a domestic dispute call.
It happened Thursday morning in the 3100 block of Community Drive and Timberlane near Overlake Park.
Initial reports from our media partner WFAA TV indicate the officers were initially called to home about a shooting that had been reported at 3:15 a.m.
The officers were using a police SUV for cover while trying to draw the suspect in the shooting out of the house.
That’s when a driver crashed his truck into the officers before driving into a nearby home.
Three officers sustained minor injuries and a fourth suffered a bag injury to the leg or foot. They’re all expected to recover.
In the domestic dispute case, one person has been arrested and another was taken to a hospital. The victim is expected to recover.
Police said the truck driver has been detained and was tested for signs of intoxication, but the results came back negatigive.
