Road Rage Shooting Takes Woman’s Life

(WBAP/KLIF) — A woman loses her life in a road rage shooting. The killing took place shortly after midnight, Tuesday, as two vehicles were traveling east along the R.L. Thornton Freeway access road.

According to Brian Martinez with Dallas Police, an argument between the woman and two unidentified black men resulted in one of the men pulling a gun and shooting at her multiple times, striking her once. Aguilar later died at the scene, while a passenger in her vehicle was uninjured.

The shooting occurred near Tennison Park Golf Course. Police are still searching for the shooter.

Homicide on Winslow Avenue
On Tuesday, March 21, 2023, at approximately 12:11 a.m., Dallas Police responded to a shooting call in the 5600 block of Winslow Avenue. The preliminary investigation determined the victim, 30-year-old Nancy Aguilar, was shot while driving in the 5500 block of E. R L Thornton Freeway Access Road. When officers arrived, they found the victim in a vehicle with a single gunshot wound. Dallas Fire and Rescue responded. The victim died at the scene.

Further investigation by detectives determined the victim was involved in an incident while driving, and words were exchanged with two unknown black males in another vehicle. As both vehicles traveled eastbound in the 5500 block of E. R L Thornton Freeway, the suspects shot at the victim’s vehicle, hitting her. The victim then crashed into a retaining wall at 5606 Winslow Avenue.

A passenger in Aguilar’s car was not injured in the shooting or crash.

There is no further suspect or suspect vehicle description at this time.

This is an ongoing investigation and will be documented on case number 047466-2023.
