(WBAP/KLIF)- ESPN and TNT report the Brooklyn Nets will trade Kyrie Irving to the Dallas Mavericks, sending Dorian Finney-Smith, Spencer Dinwiddie, a 2027 first round pick and two second round picks to the Nets in exchange for Irving.
The Lakers and Nets had been in talks discussing a potential deal, but the Nets apparently preferred the Dallas bid; including getting a point guard and wing to add to the roster, plus future draft picks.
Irving has played fewer than 150 games over the last four seasons but on the court, remained a max-level player. Irving averages slightly more than 27 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists per game this season.
