(WBAP/KLIF) — One man has died and another is in critical condition after they were shot in a Northwest Dallas robbery attempt.

A store clerk and bystander were allegedly shot by 18-year-old Kauren Mayo after a fight in a parking lot on Emerald Street. Both men were taken to a local hospital, where one of them died, while the other remains in critical condition.
Dallas Police say that Mayo was arrested and charged with murder, after he and a woman were both seen leaving the scene on foot.

On December 30, 2022, Dallas Police arrested Kauren Mayo, 18, and charged him with Murder.
On December 30, 2022, at about 12:20 a.m., officers responded to the 11300 block of Emerald Street regarding a robbery in progress. The preliminary investigation determined that an unknown black male shot two men. The store clerk and a bystander were shot during a fight in the parking lot with the suspect. The suspect and a black female (pictured) left the location together on foot. The Dallas Police Department is asking for the public’s help to identify the suspect and woman.
Both men were transported to a local hospital where one of them died from his injuries and the other remains in critical condition. This incident is documented on case number 231928-2022.
