Dallas County Officials say Six Dead in Air Show Crash

DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – The National Transportation and Safety Board is investigating a deadly crash between two planes during a Veterans Day weekend air show in Dallas.

The accident happened around 1:30 Saturday afternoon during the Commemorative Air Force Wings Over Dallas World War II Airshow, and the planes involved were a B-17 and a P-63 Kingcobra vintage aircraft.

Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins said on Sunday morning that multiple deaths were confirmed.

“According to our Dallas County Medical Examiner, there are a total of 6 fatalities from [Saturday’s] Wings over Dallas air show incident,” said Judge Jenkins. “Authorities will continue working today on the investigation & identification of the deceased. Please pray for their families and all involved.”

According to Dallas Fire-Rescue, Dallas Executive Airport will remain closed for the duration of the investigation, and the remainder of the airshow was cancelled.
