Dallas-Fort Worth (WBAP/KLIF) – The condition of a Sansom Park police officer shot during a training exercise Saturday has been upgraded from critical to stable.
A GoFundme page identifies Lina Mino as the Sansom Park police officer who was accidentally shot during a school intruder training session at a school in Forest Hill. She was shot in the face and remains in the ICU.
The training was open to any police agency in North Texas that wanted to be involved. Everman Police Chief Craig Spencer says the officer was shot by a weapon provided by a third party police training organization. The training session was not intended to include live firing.
The Texas Rangers are investigation the shooting.
Meantime, Lake Worth Police Chief J.T. Manoushagian told WFAA-TV tha his heart “almost made my heart stop upon learning of the news. He said that Mino was “kind, respectful and professional.”

Meantime, multiple agencies stepped up to help the Sansom Park Police Department and offer prayers for the Officer Mino who has also served the Fort Worth Police Department during her policing career.
