Funeral Service Held for Fallen Dallas Police Officer

RICHARDSON (WBAP/KLIF) – The Dallas Police Department said goodbye to one of its own on Wednesday during a funeral service for Officer Jacob Arellano. The 25-year-old El Paso native died last Wednesday after his SUV was hit by a wrong way driver on his way to work the night prior.

“Officer Jacob Arellano, thank you for your service, dedication, and sacrifice to the City of Dallas and the Dallas Police Department,” said Chief Eddie Garcia. “A job well done.”

During the service at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Richardson, Officers attended a full mass and heard eulogies from Chief Garcia, Dallas Mayor Eric Johnson, Officer Arellano’s twin brother Officer Josh Arellano, and other Officers.

The wrong way driver is behind bars charged with Intoxication Manslaughter.

Officer Jacob Arellano will be buried Friday in El Paso.
