Dallas Police: Arrest Made in Triple Shooting at a Koreatown Salon

(Dallas Police Department)

Dallas (WBAP/KLIF) – In a tweet this morning, Dallas Police announced that an arrest has been made in connection with a triple shooting at a Koreatown salon last Wednesday.

The incident was eventually classified as a hate crime after the ongoing investingation linked a maroon van to three different shootings targeting Asian businesses across the metroplex.

Three people shot in the Hair World Salon off Royal Lane in the Koreatown Shopping Center last week on May 11. Three other Asian-owned businesses in the same shopping center were shot at on April 2, and on May 11, a man believed to be driving a burgundy minivan shot into an Asian-run business in the 4800 block of Sunnyvale Street in east Oak Cliff.

Meantime, Dallas Police Chief Eddie Garcia was present at a public meeting at the Korean Cultural Center of Dallas last night, telling the over 100 people in attendance that “Hate has no place in the City of Dallas.” Garcia is expected to update details surrounding the latest arrest later today.

On Monday the FBI formally announced its probe of the incident.
