Dallas (WBAP/KLIF) – In an ongoing effort to shut down fake Texas paper license tag operations, Dallas Police investigators arrested a man who later confessed to printing multiple fraudulent tags.
The department’s Auto Theft Task Force arrested 43-year-old Wayland Wayne Wright on a state felony charge of Tampering with a Governmental Record with Intent to Defraud.
Acting on a tip, an undercover officer bought a fake tag at the 3600 block of Sunnyvale Street in South Dallas. During a search of property on April 20 officers recovered additional fake tags, as well as $3,000 in cash.
