Dallas Police Searching for Coyote, Child in Critical Condition after Bite

A 2-year-old child is in critical condition at a local hospital after Police said he was bit by a coyote.

According to Dallas Police, Officers responded to an animal attack in the 9200 block of Royalpine Drive just before 8:30 Tuesday morning. When officers arrived, they learned that a 2-year-old child was sitting on the front porch when the child was attack by a coyote. An officer located the coyote near a park on Royalpine Drive and fired shots at the animal, causing it to run into the woods. It’s unknown if the coyote was struck.

The child was taken to the hospital and is listed in critical condition.

Dallas officers, along with the assistance of the Game Warden, are actively searching for the coyote. All those who live or visit that area are asked be on alert and consider this animal extremely dangerous. Anyone who sees the coyote is urged to call 911.
