(WBAP/KLIF) — A North Texas high school star returns home to play for the Dallas Cowboys.

Owner Jerry Jones and the Cowboys selected former North Crowley high school lineman Tyler Smith with the 24th overall pick in the 2022 NFL draft. The 6′ 6″, 330 pound offensive tackle was named Freshman All-American at the University of Tulsa and was an All-State selection for the North Crowley Panthers.
The top overall pick of the NFL Draft was Georgia linebacker Travon Walker, who was taken by the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Cowboys continue their search to bolster the team with the 56th and 88th picks in the draft, during the second and third rounds, Friday, from Las Vegas, Nevada.
