Texas National Guard Soldier Missing at Southern Border

AUSTIN (WBAP/KLIF) – The Texas Military Department announced on Friday that a Texas Army National Guard Soldier assigned to Operation Lone Star went gone missing along the river during a mission related incident in Eagle Pass.

According to the department, the Soldier has not been found.

“We are aware of reports of a fatality, although those reports are inaccurate,” TMD said in a statement. 

The Texas Military Department, Texas DPS, and Border Patrol are working to find the Soldier.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott issued a statement regarding the missing soldier. 

“The Texas Governor’s office continues to work with the Texas National Guard and other law enforcement agencies as they search for the missing soldier,” Governor Abbott said. “Updates will be provided as additional details become available.”
