(WBAP/KLIF) — The man who shot a North Richland Hills police officer is found…20 years later.

North Richland Hills Police

Mark Alan Long was linked by authorities using DNA evidence to identify him as the man who shot a North Texas officer. However, Long is suspected of committing suicide as police closed in for an arrest. The man was found dead, Sunday, near a cell tower in Southeast Oklahoma City. A medical examiner is expected to determine his exact cause of death.

In March 2003, officer Jeff Garner was shot in the ankle after pulling Long over for a minor traffic violation. Long had just robbed a bank prior to the shooting.
