DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – A thoughtful gesture by a local teacher is inspiring Ukrainian refugees.
A hallway at St. Rita Catholic School in Dallas is blanketed with blue and yellow paper cut outs expressing hope and love for Ukraine.

“Ukraine holds the high ground,” written on one heart shaped cut out.
“Tough times don’t last,” read another.
This week, St. Rita language teacher Agnes Denvir brought a Ukrainian mother and son who arrived from Ukraine the day before to see the display.
“They were absolutely shocked and overwhelmed by love,” Denvir said.
They were fully engaged.
“They were looking and reading every single heart that students wrote,” she explained while holding back her tears. “I still get emotional.
St. Rita students have been making ribbons and raising awareness for what’s happening in Ukraine since the war broke out five weeks ago.
