DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – A North Texas health system is assisting the people of Ukraine as the Russian invasion of that country rages.

Baylor Scott & White’s Faith in Action Initiatives announced on Monday that it is working with the Baptist World Alliance and the European Baptist Federation to send shipments to logistic centers in Poland and Hungary for deployment to the areas of greatest need.
Matthew Hoffman, Director of Faith in Action Initiatives, said the health system coordinates with the religious and humanitarian organizations to send medical supplies, nonperishable food items and hygiene kits to assist displaced Ukrainians.
“Right now the basic needs are around triaging those who have been needed,” said Hoffman. “So we are donating basic needs when it comes to wound care, like bandages and surgical kits.”
Hoffman said the effort will continue as long as it is needed.
