Better Business Bureau Offers Help for Donations to Ukrainians

(WBAP/KLF, Dallas)- The Better Business Bureau has suggestions to help you decide where best to send your cash and or other donations to Ukrainians as they become increasingly displaced from Russian aggressions.

BBB suggests always investigating donation policies and the percentage of each donation that actually makes it to your intended recipients. If a site suggests 100% of your donation goes directly to victims of natural or war disasters, BBB suggests that might be misleading, because there are always costs associated with transfers of physical goods and or even cash donations becoming aid in victim’s hands. BBB suggests if you or hear this statement, but still wish to leave your donation with this type of agency, you might find more details with a little more digging for information online.

Like other aid agencies, BBB suggests cash donations allows aid agencies on the ground to more quickly pivot to provide changing needs of intended recipients. If you’re interested in sending physical donations such as non-perishable foods, clothing and blankets, be aware of costs to send those items into a war or disaster zone, which can often prove more costly than obtaining the same item(s) at the site of need.

At times, working with established, experienced aid agencies can also provide aid more quickly to your intended(s). With many delivery businesses increasingly cutting off services to war and disaster zones as conditions deteriorate, BBB suggests it is the groups more experienced and or with more contacts to get aid through in times of difficulty that can often deliver more quickly.
