Roads Conditions Deteriorate as a Wintry Mix Falls Across NTX

Dallas-Fort Worth (WBAP/KLIF) – TXDOT crews are in place statewide as road conditions are expected to deteriorate with the incoming winter storm.

Veronica Beyer with the agency is asking Texans to stay off of the roads when possible.

Authorities are also warning against using generators indoors and are encouraging Texans to be mindful of the most vulnerable, like the elderly.

Meantime Oncor crews are busy restoring power for thousands of customers who went dark overnight.

Oncor says the outages are from down power lines due to car accidents and falling trees into lines and do not appear to be
the result of grid capacity issues.

“Reserves based on the date we’re seeing from their apps appears to be well within the required margins,” according to Grant Cruz with Oncor.
