Denton (WBAP/KLIF) – Denton Police shot and killed an armed man early Saturday morning who was threatening a woman with a knife. A 9-1-1 call about 1:30 AM was from a man who said he was having “problems with a woman,” and wanted to kill himself. When officers arrived at his address they found a man restraining a woman with a strangle hold around her neck, threatening to stab her with a knife. The situation kept getting worse, and the armed man’s threats got more and more violent until police felt they had no choice but to shoot him. He was hit in the chest by a single shot from a Police rifle, and died a short time later in a hospital. His hostage was freed unharmed.
