TX Secretary of State Tries to Clear Up Confusion Over New Ballot-by-Mail Applications

Texas (WBAP/KLIF) – Texas Secretary of State John Scott has begun a series of informational webinars amid criticism and confusion surrounding the new mail-in ballot forms. Thousands of ballots have been rejected across the state because registered voters were either sent the old forms, or they failed to meet new requirements added to the new forms as a result of SB-1, Texas’ controversial new voting law.

In a video message on Twitter, Scott asks, “Are you eligible to vote by mail? make sure you are using the new application form?”

He goes on to say that you must include your @TxDP-issued Driver License/ID number OR the last 4 digits of your Social Security Number.

He also says that if he were filling it out for the first time, that he would include all three although it is not required to do so.
