Mesquite (WBAP/KLIF) – A raging late night apartment fire in Mesquite left one person dead, one firefighter injured and a number of families displaced.
The fire broke out around 10:30 last night at the Country Club Apartments on Pinehurst Lane. Fire investigators say the blaze started in one unit and quickly spread to other apartments.
A Mesquire Fire crew was at the complex to assist on a heart attack call. An oxygen tank used to treat the patient is believed to have triggered the blaze inside the apartment which quickly spread to other units.
One firefighter suffered 2nd degree burns to his hand. the cause of the fire is under investigation.
