Dallas County Health Officials Raise Coronavirus Threat Level to ‘Red’

(WBAP/KLIF) – Dallas County Public Health officials on Tuesday, Dec. 28, raised the county’s COVID-19 threat level to RED — which indicates high risk of transmission. County health officials initially decided to keep the threat level at orange last Tuesday, but have since decided to raise the level with the Omicron variant continuing to rapidly spread. Red threat level issues guidance for county residents such as avoiding crowded spaces and wearing a mask indoors again. “Be careful. Be safe. Get boosted. Wear a surgical mask. Avoid crowds for now,” Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins tweeted in response to raised threat level. Dallas County coronavirus hospitalizations had skyrocketed 50% in just one week.
