Baytown, TX (WBA)/KLIF) – Emergency responders are on the scene of a major industrial accident overnight at the southeast texas ExxonMobil refinery.
Dramatic images shared on social media showed raging flames and thick black smoke billowing into the skies over Baytown.
One Twitter user tweeted, “Explosion at Exxon! it rumbled my apartment and knocked my pictures off the wall.”
Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said in a tweet. “Four people may be injured, three of whom were taken by lifeflight and one by ambulance.”
Residents as far as 25 miles away reported hearing the blast.
