
DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – Health Departments in North Texas are working to make COVID-19 testing more available as the Omicron variant spreads across the country.
Dallas County Medical Director Phil Huang said on Tuesday that local pharmacies are stocking up on at-home COVID tests.
“There may be short term runs on it, but they are getting these supplies fulfilled and refiled the next day or the day after that,” said Huang. “We’ve also ordered 5,000 home tests through the state system.”
In Dallas county, drive thru testing at Dallas College’s Richland and North Lake campuses will run through the holiday season. Additionally, Parkland hospital is planning to makes tests more readily available.
