Garland Police Arrest Three Suspects in Kidnapping of Toddler From Motel

UPDATE 10/21 12:28 AM: Garland Police said all three suspects in the kidnapping of a 20-month boy from Express Inn off Northwest Highway near Pendleton Drive on Sunday have been arrested.

GARLAND (WBAP/KLIF News) – Garland Police are asking the public to help find two women involved in the kidnaping of a 20-month-old early Sunday morning.

The abduction happened at a motel in the 1800 block of Northwest Highway.

The child’s mother told investigators they were in their room when someone knocked on the door.

She said she opened the door thinking it was her friend but was rushed by three women who overpowered her and took her child.

Garland Police released surveillance video of the incident which shows three women arriving at the motel in a black SUV. The driver parked the vehicle in the back parking lot.

The women are seen waiting at the back door until it’s opened from the inside. Moments later, the trio is seen exiting the same door carrying the child and running to the car.

Investigators said the mother chased the car and managed to remove the front license plate from the kidnapers’ SUV before they took off.

Police were able to track down the black Jeep Renegade after an officer spotted it on Northwest Highway near LBJ Freeway just inside Dallas.

Officers conducted a traffic stop and saw 34-year-old LaShonda Price of Seagoville driving, an 11-year-old child and the kidnapped infant.

Police returned the unharmed toddler to the mother.

Price was arrested on a kidnapping charge and is being held in the Dallas County Jail on a $20,000 bond.

Another suspected kidnapper has been identified as 28-year-old Romeisha Brown but the third culprit, described as a white woman, has not been identified.

Investigators believe this is an isolated-targeted incident where the suspects involved knew the victim.

Detectives are asking anyone with information about the whereabouts of Brown or the identity of the third woman to call the Garland Police Department at 972-485-4840 or 911.

Tipsters who wish to remain anonymous can call Garland Crime Stoppers at 972-272-8477 or go to www.garlandcrimestoppers.org.
