Fort Worth (WBAP/KLIF) – It was a packed house at the Fort Worth ISD School Board meeting last night; many residents were there to speak out about the controversial ‘critical race theory.’
Critical race theory is a 40-year old concept related to a way of understanding how American racism has shaped public policy, or a divisive discourse that pits people of color against white people? Liberals and conservatives are in sharp disagreement,” according to Education Week.
Even before the meeting started, there were chants of “No crt!” countered by “Stop whitewashing history!,” according to the Dallas Morning News
The meeting comes on the heels of Gov. Greg Abbott signing a law aimed at keeping critical race theory out of classrooms. A framework on how to proceed will be outlined in an upcoming special Texas legislative session.
The meeting fell on day when new board officers were being elected – some of whom were criticized for support ‘CRT.’
