(WBAP/KLIF) – Another Texas Republican threw her hat into the ring in the race for state Attorney General on Monday.

Former Texas Supreme Court Justice Eva Guzman announced in a video posted to social media that she’s challenging incumbent Ken Paxton in next year’s Texas Attorney General election.

“In my Texas, big dreams can come from anywhere,” Guzman said in the video. “I went from humble beginnings to the Texas Supreme Court.”

Guzman joins Texas Land Commissioner George P. Bush as Republicans running against Paxton who continues to await trial on securities fraud charges. In 2018, Paxton was uncontested in the Republican primary.
