Texas (WBAP/KLIF) – Former Texas State Senator Don Huffines who has mounted a primary challenge to Governor Abbott next year, says the incumbent governor ‘stole’ his Texas border wall idea.
Hffines was a guest on WFAA’s ‘Inside TexaW Politics,’ labeling Abbott a “career politician of 31 years who is on interested in his career.”
Huffines has repeatedly said that Abbott has done nothing to secure the Texas border, and refers to himself as
the “true Republican” in the race who is committed to doing something about the border crisis, which he referred to as an ‘invasion.”

Huffines added that he’s not going to be asking for permission from the federal government to secure Texas’ border.
Last week Abbott committed 25-million dollars in state funds as a ‘downpayment’ for a wall. Abbott plans to crowd-source the remaining funding which is estimated to be in the billions of dollars.
Texas is doing more than any state has ever done to protect the border.
In the Biden Administration's absence, Texas is stepping up to get the job done by building the border wall.
