(WBAP/KLIF) — The Texas Legislature convenes during the second week in January with a number of high-profile issues to address. With Coronavirus shutdowns in 2020, businesses were forced to close and millions of Texans hit the unemployment lines. The trickle down affect is less state tax revenue.
Democratic State Representative Chris Turner believes a bi-partisan legislature will work to ease the impacts of COVID-19. He believes Republicans and Democrats will come together to address those problems and that of having the highest number of uninsured residents than any state in the nation.
Turner appeared on WFAA’s “Inside Texas Politics”. the 87th Texas Legislature convenes on Tuesday, January 12th.
