NASHVILLE – (WBAP/KLIF)- Federal agents have searched the home of a possible person or people of interest, wanted for the apparently purposeful bombing Christmas Day morning in downtown Nashville. Motive remains to be determined and announced, but the blast did blow out communications equipment and particularly hard hit was the AT&T communications center, with police and fire communications affected with those of others.
The bomb blast blew out windows for a square block and originated with explosion of a large recreational vehicle, parked on a street in an area of shops and bars; places locals and tourists frequent.
15 minutes before the blast, a recorded woman’s voice echoed from that RV urging people to evacuated, noting the vehicle would explode in 15 minutes, and then a countdown began.
Investigators are looking at the possibility of a suicide bomber, with tissue samples from the scene sent for testing to find out what type of body had been blown apart. Investigation continues, and rewards for information leading to the suspect or suspects now totals $300,000.
