Reward in Dallas Security Guard Murder Increased to $75,000

DALLAS  (WBAP/KLIF News) – The reward for information leading to the arrest and indictment of the suspect in the murder of a Dallas security guard has increased to $75,000.

28-year-old Jose Montes was killed during the robbery outside the Neighborhood Credit Union at 1515 Cockrell Hill Road around 8:15 a.m. on September 14th.

Investigators with the Dallas Police Department said Montes was servicing an ATM outside the credit union had been approached by a man wearing a black jacket with the word “police” written on the back.

The man was carrying a rifle and demanded property before firing the fatal shot. 

He then loaded a duffel bag into a white sedan that was driven by a woman.

Police said when officers responded, they found Montes laying on the ground suffering a gunshot wound.

The suspect and the driver are still on the loose.

Montes left behind a fiance and baby boy.
