A North Texas Mayor is self-isolating out of concern he was exposed to COVID-19. McKinney Mayor George Fuller was sitting at the dais in this week’s City Council meeting when he got a text from a friend who told the Mayor he had tested positive for COVID-19.
“Upon learning I had been around him I immediately recessed the meeting out of an abundance of caution and conducted the meeting from a private room for the rest of the night,” Mayor Fuller said in a Facebook video posted on Wednesday.
According to Fuller, he had taken the friend food because he wasn’t feeling well but had tested negative for the virus.
“He was told by the Doctor that he had some type of other viral thing,” said Fuller. “We let our guard down.”
The next day the man had a positive test and notified Fuller. The Mayor Fuller and his wife now awaiting test results of their own.
