Fort Worth Council Rejects Affordable Housing Project

DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) — Affordable housing will not be headed to a popular neighborhood near downtown Fort Worth.

The Fort Worth City Council on Tuesday voted 3-6 to reject zoning for the development Azalea West in Linwood. The 80-unit complex was to be built near the West 7th entertainment district.

Neighborhood residents were complaining that the complex would cause traffic and parking problems.

Proponents argued that more housing was needed to meet market demand.
