Houston (WBAP/KLIF) – Republican Lt. Colonel and former Florida Congressman Allen West is the new Chairman of the Texas GOP Party. Delegates attending the virtual convention in Houston made the decision early Monday morning. West replaces James Dickey who conceded the race at about 4:30am. West, who is recovering from a severe motorcycle crash two months ago, says he’s hitting the ground running today with meetings with top GOP leaders. He told KLIF’s “Dave and Amy” he would like to more aggressive in promoting GOP values and he challenged the Democratic party to a series of three debates. West says he does not want to see the left take over Texas and he will do everything he can to stop that.
