Republican Party of Texas Officially Votes to Hold Convention Online

AUSTIN (WBAP/KLIF NEWS)- The Texas GOP has officially decided to move its convention online.

Houston city officials made the decision to cancel the event due to Coronavirus concerns about a week ago. The republican party of Texas attempted to sue Houston democratic Mayor Sylvester Turner and others involved in the cancellation arguing the large gathering is protected under both the U.S. and Texas constitution, but the Texas supreme court quickly dismissed it on Monday. The organizations then voted late Monday evening to hold it event online.

Republican Party of Texas Chairman James Dickey issued a statement saying,
