Fort Worth (WBAP/KLIF) – Officers of the Fort Worth Police Department paid tribute to George Floyd by kneeling outside the East side substation for 8 minutes, 46 seconds – the length of time a Minneapolis officer held his knee to the 46-year old truck driver’s neck before he died.
The tribute around 1 p.m. took place just as a public memorial for Floyd was getting underway in Minneapolis .
A pastor just happened to drive by as #FortWorth officers were outside their substation reflecting on the death of #GeorgeFloyd.
He asked if he could pray with them.
He prayed for their protection, and he prayed for change. #WFAA pic.twitter.com/7UCF8WtuN0
