FORT WORTH (WBAP/KLIF News) – Although the Fort Worth Public Library remains closed due to COVID-19, residents will soon have access to its treasure trove of books.
Curbside pickup service will start next Tuesday.
Library Director Manya Shorr said patrons will have to call and make an appointment.
“They’re going to need to place a hold on whatever material they want to pick up and then during their appointment time, drive on up to the library, show their library card and i.d. through their closed car window to our staff,” she said.
To prevent COVID-19 spread, the books will be cleaned and sanitized after being dropped off before they’re put back into rotation.
“We’re going to quarantine them for 72 hours. So folks log into their account on our website… they’re going to see those items, that there still checked out but we are fine free. So, no one needs to worry about paying for anything,” said Shorr.
The service is available at these five locations.
- East Regional Library, 6301 Bridge St.
- Golden Triangle Branch Library, 4264 Golden Triangle Blvd.
- Northwest Branch Library, 6228 Crystal Lake Dr.
- Southwest Regional Library, 4001 Library Lane
- Summerglen Branch Library, 4205 Basswood Blvd.
