Update: DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News) – Assistant Fire Chief Bill Murphy said the evacuations affected those within a quarter-mile radius. “There is no danger outside of this area at this time. That’s why we were a little overly cautious and evacuated a large area.”
Murphy said a six to 12 inch gas line ruptured underneath the road, which later sparked a fire. No injuries were reported.
DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News) -At the request of the city of Grand Prairie Emergency Management, parts of the city are being asked to evacuate.
A large natural gas fire is in progress near Mayfield Road and Forum Drive. Online video shows a fire near an Exxon station, near Watson Road.
Emergency Management officials have requested the immediate evacuation of all residences and businesses in the following areas:
- Between Mayfield Road and Interstate 20
- Between Hwy 360 and Great SW Parkway
You are advised to evacuate immediately to the East or West using either Interstate 20 or Mayfield Road.
