DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – Billionaire entrepreneur Mark Cuban joined WBAP and KLIF Radio Friday for a town hall discussion surrounding the impact of the spread of coronavirus on small businesses.
The Shark Tank mogul encouraged Americans who are able to spend money to pump dollars into small businesses as much as possible to keep the economy afloat.
“If you can afford it, spend it,” said Cuban. “Order delivery from every restaurant that you possibly can rather than going to the grocery store and making dinner for yourselves.”
Cuban urged banks to allow overdraft fees for $1,200 to allow people in dyer need of approved stimulus money to avoid waiting three weeks for direct deposit.
“If you have a tax refund from the IRS because all the pieces are already in place for them to confirm everything,” Cuban said.
The Dallas Mavericks owner applauded congress for passing the bi-partisan legislation but challenged local leaders to step up to the plate and execute as diligently and quickly as possible.
“The execution is going to be everything,” Cuban emphasized. “This execution now is where we are for life and death. Because if people can’t feed their families because it’s going to take three weeks or longer to get the $1,200 or if small businesses can retain employees because they can’t get their payroll protection loans, then we’re in deep you know what. This is where leaders have to lead.”
Cuban stressed that he believes American capitalism will shine once the threat is gone and restrictions are no longer necessary.
