DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF)- Dallas ISD Officials say a student at J-L Long Middle School has tested positive for the Coronavirus. In a letter sent to parents, J-L Long Principal Chandra Barnett says the student was seen by a nurse Friday before Spring Break and fortunately the student is at home and is doing well. She states the Dallas County Health Department has determined the student did not get sick at school and only attended two classes before visiting the nurse. Dallas County Health Officials are tracing the students path of contact for that day and if they determine a student was in close contact by the infected student, Dallas ISD will contact you. Superintendent Dr. Michael Hinojosa is set to address Dallas City Council at a special meeting Wednesday morning.
Dallas County Schools have been closed indefinitely.
