ARLINGTON (WBAP/KLIF)- The Arlington Police Department arrested one of it’s own for an alleged domestic assault on December 15th. Arlington police say Frank Joseph Vacante II, who was recently assigned as a Sergeant in the Support Operations Bureau turned himself in on one charge of assault-family violence.
According to an arrest affidavit, Sergeant Vacante got into an argument with his girlfriend and she refused to let him inside her apartment. The report says she ‘smacked’ him in the genital area and then he grabbed her head and forcibly hit the back of her head onto the metal stair railing. He then reportedly pressed his forearm onto her neck, preventing her from breathing. Police say she lost conscious from the alleged assault.
Vacante has been with the department for 12 years. He’s on administrative leave pending the outcome of criminal and administrative investigations.
