EULESS (WBAP/KLIF) – The American Professional Flight Attendants Association is considering suing Boeing as a result of the grounding of the 737 Max.
The voting board of directors of the union for American Airlines flight attendants says its exploring the possibility of a lawsuit to seek damages from Boeing.
“Last month, one local president inquired about the possibility of looking into the issue. Others expressed their concerns this past week, following media stories where APFA’s situation was compared to Southwest Airlines Flight Attendants’ position on the 737 MAX, the APFA said in a statement. “AA has several types of aircraft in their fleet, while SW depends mainly on the 737. Although the Union negotiated pay protections in March covering Flight Attendants whose schedules and pay were impacted by the grounding of the MAX in a Letter of Agreement with the company, the grounds for a suit will be researched and determined by the APFA Board this week.”
The Max planes were grounded earlier this year following two deadly crashes overseas.
