DALLAS – WBAP/KLIF – Dallas Police report a 37 year old man died Friday night after he was found shot multiple times, In the parking lot of the ATERA Apartments at 4606 Cedar Spring Road, The man was taken to Parkland Memorial Hospital where he was declared dead. Police say the victim did not have any identity cards with him; his identity has not been officially released.
Dallas Morning News quotes attorney Lee Merritt as reporting the victim is 37 year old Joshua Brown, who was considered a key witness in the murder trial of Amber Guyger, the former Dallas police officer charged with and convicted of murder in the fatal shooting of Botham Jean. Brown’s testimony greatly focused on his assertion he heard gunshots as he approached his apartment at the time of the shooting. Guyger testified she believed she’d entered her apartment, believed Jean was an intruder, and that she shot him with intent to kill, as per DPD training. Guyger testified she realized after the shooting she had mistakenly entered the apartment of Jean. Guyger was found guilty of murder and received a ten year prison sentence.
No suspects are reported in custody. Witnesses are reported as saying they heard gunshots and then saw a man down on the ground in the parking lot, suffering from several gunshots. Witnesses reportedly told police they saw a silver four-door sedan speeding out of the parking lot. No suspects are reported in custody.
