ARLINGTON (WBAP/KLIF News) — A family who went to a Rangers game over the weekend says they were victims of racial harassment while in the stands.
Jessica Ramero posted to Facebook after Saturday night’s game that she and her family were taking a photo, when she overheard a man behind her say he wanted to ruin the picture.
He then made an inappropriate gesture in the photo.
Ramero also says a Hispanic family was sitting behind that man, and that when that family’s son kicked the man’s chair, he began making racial comments.
“For the next three innings, I had to hear him complain about the illegal immigrants that were surrounding him at the game,” Ramero posted on Facebook. “That he should kick little Speedy Gonzalez all the way back to Mexico for kicking his seat.”
Ramero said they left during the fifth inning. Her Facebook post as of early Monday morning had been shared more than 50,000 times.
The Rangers have apologized to the family and said there’s no place for that kind of behavior at the ballpark.
