DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) — A neighborhood in Dallas that was hit hard one week ago by Mother Nature was hit with a second round of storms on Sunday.
A tornado warning was issued by the National Weather Service at around 3:30pm, after radar indicated rotation in a storm cell moving northeast across the northern portion of the county.
Around 4pm, heavy rain and high winds rolled through University Park, and the Preston Hollow neighborhoods.
Shortly after, crews with Dallas Fire and Rescue closed off parts of Northwest Highway due to high water.
Trees across the area near Northpark Mall were also toppled due to high winds, which at times gusted to 60 and 70 miles per hour according to the National Weather Service.
This area was spared the worst of the damage last week, since many customers never lost power. It’s unclear if any of those customers would be as lucky this time around.
